Welcome

The Human Meaning Institute is the educational division of Erika Bogan's work.

While The Human Meaning Project explores how human beings create meaning, the Human Meaning Institute is where those ideas become practical learning experiences.

Here, you'll find courses designed to help you better understand yourself, communicate more effectively, support others with greater empathy, and navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Our goal is simple:

To make meaningful human skills accessible to everyone.

Why We Exist

Every day, we encounter people who are hurting, overwhelmed, grieving, celebrating, questioning, or simply trying to make sense of life.

Most of us genuinely want to help.

Few of us have ever been taught how.

The Human Meaning Institute was created to bridge that gap through practical, research-informed education that can be applied in everyday life.

Whether you're supporting a friend, leading a team, raising a family, or simply trying to understand yourself more deeply, we believe these are skills worth learning.

Empathetic Listening

Our first course teaches one of the most important human skills:

Learning how to truly listen.

Through ten short lessons, you'll discover how to be more present, respond with empathy instead of urgency, and support others without immediately trying to fix their problems.

✔ Self-paced

✔ Certificate of Completion

✔ Approximately 30 minutes

Growing Together

The Human Meaning Institute is just getting started.

Future courses will explore topics including:

  • Supporting Someone in Crisis

  • Trauma-Informed Communication

  • Understanding Survival Mode

  • Meaning-Making

  • Leadership Through Empathy

  • Human Connection

  • The Parking Lot Method

As the Institute grows, our mission will remain the same:

Helping people better understand themselves, support others, and navigate the human experience with wisdom, compassion, and confidence.
